Ludovica Musumeci is a London-based multi-award-winning Director, Writer and Producer, as well as a published author. Born and raised in Sicily, after graduating in Business and Economics Ludovica’s passion for film saw her choose London as a permanent base – positioning herself right at the heart of the UK’s thriving filmmaking industry.
While completing a Master in Management and Sociology, Ludovica wrote and shot her first short. Her unique vision and originality found a natural home in the psychological thriller genre, with an inclination for the surreal.
In only three years, Ludovica worked as Director and Producer on more than 40 productions in various genres both in a commercial and a creative setting, ranging from documentaries to animations.
When writing and directing, her work is characterised by significant unexpected plot-twists, ambiguity and studied suspense that anchor the audience’s attention firmly to the screen.
The immersive worlds that Ludovica crafts encompass both the rational and emotional spheres, colluding in bolded representations of the human mind, nature and secrets.
Currently working as a Creative Producer at Box Media, Ludovica collaborates with Emmy- and Academy-nominated artists, shaping the future of learning through high-quality productions.
‘Mens Sana’ is Ludovica’s directorial debut. Its proof of concept has been acclaimed internationally in many Film Festivals including (but not limited to) the monumental Worldfest- Houston International Film and Video Festival (Silver Remi Award- Science Fiction), Show Low Film Festival (Best Sci-Fi), Hollywood Blood Horror Festival (Best Sci-Fi), Sunscreen West Film Festival (Nomination for Best Actress), Gold Movie Awards (Best Sound and Best Editing, Finalist for Best Sci-fi) and That Film Festival – Berlin (Best Live Action).
