Scott Vickers is an acclaimed director, writer and producer, whose 2019 feature film ‘Matriarch’ sent waves through the industry in-part due to its micro budget. The renowned LA based sales agency Covert Media signed ‘Matriarch’ and Screen Daily featured Scott in their special European Film Market edition. ‘Matriarch’ was then bought by powerhouses Lionsgate, Sony and Sky. ‘Matriarch’ won best film at Glasgow Horror Fest then secured a theatrical deal with Cineworld Glasgow and LA’s Royal Laemmlle Movie Theatre, Los Angeles. Shortly after its release Scott was signed by US management company 3 Arts Entertainment. Former President of 20th Century Fox Stephen Moore said this: “Scott is an exceptional talent with a highly unique and daring vision.”
Scott was born in Manchester, UK and performed in both amateur and professional shows and throughout his childhood. After Performing Arts College, Scott joined ‘The Moulin Rouge’, Paris and went onto appear in the West End production of ‘Chicago’ between 2004 and 2007. Scott then switched to screen acting and began studying film and photography. As an actor he appeared in TV productions such as Foyles War, Sirens, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and was a regular actor on BBC’ s River City appearing in over 150 episodes. Scott worked for many years in commercial film, producing and directing on over 100 projects including projects for Jaguar, Land Rover, CoOp and Castrol.
Scott’s first film ‘Advance to Contact’ starred acclaimed actors Frances Barber, Sarah Jayne Dunn and Matthew Crompton. The film is a true story about an ex-soldier suffering from extreme symptoms of PTSD. It achieved distribution with Shorts International and is used at Combat Stress UK for training. Following the film’s success, Scott was made an ambassador of Erskine Veterans Charity.
Scott invests much of his spare time into teaching and coaching professional artists as well as young and aspiring actors and filmmakers often delivering seminars at performing arts schools and charities.
Scott and his wife Nicola recently founded INTERACT – an online resource for actors and performers that connects artists anywhere in the world with current film and TV directors and veteran actors for coaching and support. INTERACT also brings cutting-edge mind-set training that allow artists to be at their best for TV, film, theatre, auditioning and more.
